Two of the biggest toymakers in the game are teaming up for what they’re calling “an epic build.”
Hasbro and the LEGO Group inked a licensing deal for the LEGO Transformers Optimus Prime. Set to roll out next month, the set is expected to be a 1,508-piece build based upon Optimus Prime’s 1984 “G1” form — a box-style semi-truck cab that transforms into the famed Autobot leader.
Both Hasbro and LEGO teased the project on their social networks this morning with full details set to emerge in the weeks ahead.
While this marks the first official collaboration between the LEGO and Transformers brands, it’s not the first time Optimus and the gang have rolled into the construction aisle. Hasbro previously released its own construction line under the KRE-O brand some years back with G.I. Joe and Transformers sets offered across various price points.
Stay tuned for an incoming transmission from Cybertron via Rhode Island and Denmark…
