Following a pair of tweets from Nintendo and the LEGO Group this week, the full details of their Super Mario Bros. collaboration has been revealed.
LEGO Super Mario is a new product line that changes the way that kids can interact with Super Mario in the physical world by using an electronic, interactive Mario figure to collect coins in levels built with LEGO Bricks.
“We are very excited to bring Mario into the physical world through interactive and social LEGO play,” says Julia Goldin, chief marketing officer, executive vice president of the LEGO Group. “With this experience, we will help millions of kids with love for Mario to engage and play in a completely new way, where they are in control of creating and playing games with their favorite character. By seamlessly incorporating the latest digital technology, LEGO Super Mario is a highly social, interactive, and collaborative experience for kids.”
LEGO Super Mario sets will be available later this year.
